So, we’ve all been following the recent slurry of Aliens Vs. Predator news and videos. We’ve also been thinking back to the old days and praying that this will be that long wished for, next-gen version of the the original. The rather awesome news here today, is that the wait is over folks! From tomorrow, you’ll be able to choose Marine, Predator or Alien in an online multiplayer demo!

The demo will be appearing on Steam in a matter of hours, allowing players to experience one game mode (Deathmatch) and one map (Refinery) two weeks before the game releases. Rebellion also revealed the names of all 7 multiplayer game modes in the full release to be: Infestation, Survivor, Predator Hunt, Domination, Deathmatch, Species Deathmatch and Mix Species Deathmatch.

“The team at Rebellion has created a truly immersive multiplayer experience with three completely different and compelling playable species. We believe that Aliens vs Predator offers gamers a unique alternative to the current FPS multiplayer games on the market, and sets a precedent for the evolution of multiplayer gaming in the genre,” said Gary Knight, European Marketing Director of SEGA Europe.

The heavy focus on multiplayer sure looks promising, and was reaffirmed when Jason Kingsley, CEO and Creative Director of Rebellion stated,”Multiplayer was a huge part of our original AVP game back in 1999, and we’ve kept the spirit of that classic experience in creating the multiplayer for our new Aliens vs Predator. With the demo now gamers can get to grips with each of the three iconic species so they can hone their skills and be ready for when the game launches and battle commences.”

I’m sure you’re all just as keen to try it out as we are, let’s keep our fingers crossed that it lives up to our expectations; bringing something fresh to the online FPS scene. Post in our forums if you’re going to be playing, hopefully we can arrange a few games together over weeks leading up to AVPs full release, on 19th February.

So, who’s up for a night of clicking Steam’s refresh button?
